We're thinking of using a Tektonic VPS for a virtual pbx server, using a trixbox style installation; I know we can't do trixbox itself but we actually may be able to do Piaf (PBX in a flash); the install method is more flexible.

Anyone currently running asterisk/freePBX? A search of these forums found only two old posts which both indicated problems with Music on Hold.

Anyone know if that's been fixed?

Any information/help appreciated.

Thanks.

Jeff

I've got two VPS systems with TekTonic, one runs Asterisk by itself, the other runs FreePBX and Asterisk. I've had wonderful call quality with both (our home phone line runs off of one of them), and have never had an issue with MoH.

I've run as many as 60 channels at a time SIP and have not had any issues.

Only issue I had was today when a VPS server blew up, but TekTonic was very fast about getting things back in order.

An virtual pbx server is interesting...just wonder how reliable it would be for a business needing 100% uptime. We have a small hotel and use Linksys now and we use Music/Messaging on Hold.
